Eedris Abdulkareem Launches ‘Tell Your Papa’ Challenge Amid Government Ban

Date:

Nigerian singer Eedris Abdulkareem has taken to social media to launch the ‘Tell Your Papa’ challenge, despite the federal government’s ban on his newly released anti-Tinubu song.

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) issued a directive banning the song from being played on all radio and television stations, citing it as “inappropriate and offensive.” The decision has drawn criticism from Abdulkareem, who has accused the government of attempting to silence the truth and suppress dissent.

In response to the ban, Abdulkareem took to Instagram, asserting that this was an effort to stifle free expression. On Sunday, he introduced the ‘Tell Your Papa’ challenge, encouraging people to speak out and share their opinions.

The post accompanying the challenge read, “Nothing strengthens authority so much as silence. There is a time to speak and a time to keep silent. This is the time to speak and make your voice heard.”

By launching the challenge, Abdulkareem has urged his followers to stand firm in expressing their views, even in the face of government pushback. The move has sparked further debates about freedom of speech and censorship in Nigeria.
