Former Nigerian international Odion Ighalo has advised Victor Osimhen to make a move to the Premier League, describing it as the ideal step to elevate his already impressive football career.
With the 2025 summer transfer window on the horizon, Osimhen’s future has drawn significant attention from top European clubs. The forward, currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in red-hot form, scoring 21 goals in 25 league appearances.
Speaking on the Abu Azeez Podcast, Ighalo praised Osimhen’s development and encouraged him to consider the English top flight as his next destination.
“I believe he has done so well for his age and he’s still doing well,” Ighalo said. “This is the time for him to make the best decision. If I were to advise him, I’d say the Premier League – that is the big stage, the biggest league in the world. That’s where he can make an even bigger name for himself.”
The former Manchester United and Watford striker added that while Osimhen has professional advisors guiding his career, a move to England would benefit him greatly both during and after his playing days.
Despite giving strong advice, Ighalo made it clear he would support any path Osimhen chooses.
“Everybody can say whatever they want, but the player knows what is in his heart and head. Whatever decision he makes, I’m 101% in support of him,” he said.
