Factional President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has responded defiantly to online criticism following a recent English language slip.In a widely circulated video, MC Oluomo addressed those mocking him for mispronouncing the word “kudos” as “kundus.” Rather than shy away from the backlash, he tackled the issue head-on, insisting that life achievements matter more than perfect grammar.“I worked hard despite not being educated. Yes, I said ‘Kundus’—so what? Is Kundus not my son? You that went to school, what have you achieved? Let them compete with my children,” he declared. “I raised my children in wealth. They are citizens of America and the UK. I didn’t go to school, but I worked to reach this level. English isn’t my mother tongue—Yoruba is.”MC Oluomo, who began his journey as a bus conductor in Lagos, used the opportunity to reflect on his rise from the streets to becoming the head of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee.He emphasized that determination, not formal education, paved the way for his accomplishments. His message to critics was clear: personal success and the legacy one builds for their children are far more important than language fluency.
