United States-based sprinter Tiana Eyakpobeyan says she is focused on making Nigeria proud at the 2025 World Athletics Relays scheduled for May 10–11 at the Guangdong Olympic Stadium in China.
Eyakpobeyan, a key member of Nigeria’s women’s 4x100m relay squad, On Monday her preparations are going smoothly ahead of the global event.
“My preparation is going on smoothly. I must commend you and your organisation for the amazing job you are doing. May God continue to bless you for the followership given to Nigerian athletes, home and abroad,” she said.
Team Nigeria is expected to depart for China on May 5 to acclimatise and fine-tune baton exchange techniques ahead of the championship.
The country will compete in four events: the men’s and women’s 4x100m relays, the mixed 4x100m, and the mixed 4x400m.
Eyakpobeyan will join a strong women’s 4x100m lineup that includes world champion Tobi Amusan, Umukoro Success, Rosemary Chukwuma, Favour Ofili, and Jennifer Chukwuka.
