FXTM Academy Unites Cyclists Nationwide in Charity Race, Awards Top Riders

FXTM Academy brought together cycling enthusiasts from across Nigeria for a spirited charity race held in Lagos on Saturday, April 19, drawing over 200 participants from cities including Port Harcourt, Ilorin, Ibadan, Abeokuta, and Lagos.

The event featured six race categories—professional male and female, junior boys and girls, and veteran male and female—ensuring inclusive participation across all skill levels. The race commenced after registration at 6:30 a.m., with junior boys leading off the day’s contests at 8:00 a.m.

Cyclists covered multiple laps on a 2.8-kilometre track, with junior riders completing 10 laps, veterans 14, and professionals racing over 20. Top performers were rewarded with generous cash prizes. In the professional category, the first-place winner took home ₦800,000, followed by ₦500,000, ₦300,000, and ₦200,000 for second to fourth place. Riders placing fifth through fifteenth each earned ₦50,000.

In the junior category, winners received ₦200,000, ₦100,000, and ₦50,000 for the top three spots, while veteran category winners were awarded ₦500,000, ₦300,000, and ₦200,000.

Participants and onlookers lauded FXTM Academy for organising an event that promoted sportsmanship, unity, and youth empowerment through sport.

FXTM Academy Country Representative Kelechi Ehibudu underscored the organisation’s mission: “FXTM Academy wants to empower communities and promote values that also align with cycling—perseverance, discipline, endurance, and continuous improvement.”
