Skales Celebrates Career Revival as ‘Shake Body’ Trends Again After Viral Yamal Dance

Nigerian singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, says his life feels “restarted” after his 2015 hit song Shake Body resurged in popularity nearly a decade after its release.

The Afrobeats track recently went viral following a celebratory dance by Barcelona’s teenage football sensation Lamine Yamal, alongside Spain stars Nico Williams and Samu Omorodion. The moment has reignited interest in the song across social media platforms.

Expressing his gratitude on X, Skales wrote:

“I feel like my life just restarted again … I’m nothing but a learner. Please allow me to enjoy this moment without disrespecting anyone that has achieved way more than me … God is the greatest … let’s grow together y’all.”

Skales appealed to fans and colleagues for support as he embraces the renewed spotlight. He also urged against comparisons, saying he simply wants to enjoy the moment.

The singer had the opportunity to meet Yamal and the youngster’s mother over the weekend following Barcelona’s thrilling 3-2 Copa del Rey final win against Real Madrid at the Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla.

The unexpected resurgence of Shake Body has sparked excitement among Skales’ fans, with many celebrating the song’s return to mainstream attention.
