Popular Nigerian social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force in Abuja on Friday. His lawyer, Denise Adeyanju, confirmed the arrest via his X account, expressing concern over the incident.
According to Adeyanju’s post, VDM was arrested at a branch of GTB (Guaranty Trust Bank) in Abuja. He shared that VDM had been speaking to the police before the arrest took place, calling the situation “absolutely unacceptable” and emphasizing that demanding accountability should not be a crime.
Adeyanju also noted that VDM’s friend, C Park, was arrested alongside him, but his mother was left unharmed. At the time of the report, details about the specific reasons behind the arrest remained unclear, and the police had not issued an official statement on the matter.
This is not the first time VDM has faced legal issues, as he was previously detained by police in November 2024 after responding to an invitation from the authorities.
