ABUJA – Iconic Open University, Sokoto, has announced the establishment of new campuses in Kano and Kebbi States as part of efforts to improve access to higher education and bridge regional disparities in academic opportunities.
In a statement released to journalists on Thursday, the university’s management explained that the move is intended to serve the educational needs of students in underserved areas while promoting academic excellence and innovation.
“These campuses are designed to provide accessible education tailored to the needs of students while fostering academic excellence and innovation,” the statement read.
The Kano campus is strategically located along Gwarzo-BUK Road, near the NYSC State Secretariat, while the Kebbi campus is sited at No. 3 Emir Haruna Road in Birnin Kebbi. Both facilities will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
“The Kano campus is expected to serve the state’s large population, and the Kebbi campus will cater to students in Kebbi and its surrounding areas,” the university stated.
Iconic Open University, a distance-learning institution licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC), focuses on fields such as technology, business administration, management, and allied health sciences.
