Ibrahim Chatta Claims He’s Not Interested in Winning AMVCA Award

Date:

Veteran Nigerian actor Ibrahim Chatta has stated that he is not interested in winning the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA). Chatta, who was nominated for Best Lead Actor for his role in House of GAA, lost the award to Femi Adebayo, who won for his role in Seven Doors.

During his appearance on the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast on Sunday, Chatta responded to a question from host Isbae U, who asked whether he felt unappreciated for his work. Isbae U also encouraged him to pray for an AMVCA win. Chatta, however, dismissed the idea, saying, “I’m not interested.”

The 11th edition of the AMVCA took place in Lagos on Saturday night. Despite his loss, Chatta’s response highlights his focus on his craft rather than external recognition.
