The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ward 01, Iragbiji, Osun State has officially acknowledged the resignation of former Senator Felix Ogunwale, describing his departure as a relief.
During a special ward congress on Monday in Boripe Local Government, Ward Chairperson Taibat Oladimeji, represented by Abayomi Adegoke, noted that Ogunwale’s exit was unsurprising due to his prolonged absence from party activities.
“The exit of Senator Felix Kola Ogunwale (Jumokol) from the party was a relief for us at the ward and local government level because he has not participated in any party activities for about a year,” Oladimeji stated.
She confirmed that the ward leadership would notify the PDP hierarchy at both state and national levels about their position. The congress reaffirmed its loyalty to the PDP and praised Governor Ademola Adeleke for his performance, particularly in Boripe Local Government.
“We remain faithful, steadfast, undeterred and resolute to uphold our party and give victory to our party in all future elections,” Oladimeji added.
A vote of confidence was passed on Governor Adeleke, with the congress commending ongoing projects under his administration and pledging continued support in future polls.
In his resignation letter addressed to Osun PDP Chairman Sunday Bisi and Governor Adeleke, Ogunwale cited “personal growth” and “commitment to the welfare of his people” as his reasons for leaving. The letter was released to the press by the ward leadership.
