U-20 Africa Cup of Nations: Semi-Final Pairings Confirmed

Date:

The semi-final matchups for the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations have been set after an exciting quarter-final round on Monday.

Nigeria, the seven-time champions, secured their spot in the final four after a hard-fought goalless draw with Senegal. The Flying Eagles triumphed 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out following 120 minutes of intense action.

Nigeria’s next challenge will come from South Africa, who edged past DR Congo 1-0 in extra time. The match between Nigeria and South Africa is scheduled for May 15, with a 4pm local time kick-off.

In the other semi-final, hosts Egypt will face Morocco. Egypt narrowly defeated Ghana 1-0 despite a late scare, while Morocco needed extra time to beat Sierra Leone 1-0. This clash will take place later the same day at 9pm local time.

With a spot in the final at stake, both semi-finals are set to be thrilling encounters as the teams vie for continental glory.
