TCN to Carry Out Maintenance on 60MVA Transformer in Abuja

Date:

ABUJA – The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that it will conduct routine preventive maintenance on the 60 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA) TR2 transformer at the Kukwaba Transmission Substation in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Saturday.

In a statement released via its verified X account, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, said the maintenance will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

She explained that during the seven-hour exercise, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to draw power from the affected transformer. This will temporarily disrupt electricity supply to areas including Wuye, Utako, parts of Jabi, Idu Railway Station, EFCC, FMC, Baze University, Nile University, Coca-Cola, Citec, Idu Industrial Area, Kuchigoro, and Karomajiji.

Mbah assured that power supply to the affected areas will be restored immediately after the maintenance is completed.
