Galatasaray clinched the 2024/25 Turkish Super Lig title on Sunday evening with a commanding 3-0 victory against Kayserispor at a packed Rams Park in Istanbul.
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen was the star of the night, opening the scoring in the 27th minute with a powerful header from Gabriel Sara’s precise corner. Osimhen’s goal, his 36th across all competitions this season, ignited wild celebrations among the home fans and underscored his vital role since joining the Turkish giants.
Just two minutes later, Galatasaray doubled their lead. Midfielder Lucas Torreira delivered a sharp pass that sliced through Kayserispor’s defense, finding Barış Alper Yılmaz, who calmly finished into the bottom corner.
These swift back-to-back goals effectively ended Kayserispor’s hopes of a comeback, as Galatasaray controlled the game thereafter. Goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was solid at the back, securing a clean sheet to preserve the victory.
Galatasaray’s third goal further sealed the win and a memorable night for coach Okan Buruk’s side. With this crucial triumph, the Istanbul club now leads the league by six points over fierce rivals Fenerbahce, with just two games remaining in the season.
Currently sitting atop the table with 89 points from 34 matches, Galatasaray are well-positioned to claim the league crown, while Fenerbahce trail with 81 points.
