Tension enveloped Ikire, a town in the Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, on Sunday following a brazen attack on the convoy of renowned Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma.
According to eyewitness accounts, suspected hoodlums stoned and opened fire on the convoy, which included a black Hummer Jeep and a white Hilux truck. The incident occurred in the afternoon, leaving visible damage on the vehicles.
A video circulating on social media captures the chaotic scene, with voices in the background shouting in panic. One voice, speaking in Pidgin English, is heard saying, “Kasala don burst for Ikire. They don attack us. They carry gun shoot us but God dey.”
It is still unclear whether Pasuma or any member of his team sustained injuries during the attack. As of the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the singer or his management for comment have been unsuccessful.
The incident disrupted normal activities in Ikire, causing fear and confusion among residents and business owners in the vicinity.
Pasuma was reportedly in the area for a scheduled performance, although specific details of the visit have not been confirmed.
The Osun State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the attack or any arrests related to the incident.
