Manchester United Receive Fitness Boost Ahead of Europa League Final Against Tottenham

Date:

Manchester United have been handed a timely fitness boost ahead of their Europa League final clash with Tottenham on Wednesday, as Joshua Zirkzee, Diogo Dalot, and Leny Yoro all returned to training on Tuesday.

Under Ruben Amorim’s management, United prepare to face Tottenham in an all-English final at the San Mamés stadium in Bilbao, hoping to salvage what has been a difficult domestic season.

Zirkzee, previously ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after sustaining a hamstring injury at Newcastle in April, could now feature after missing United’s last eight matches across all competitions.

Portugal full-back Dalot has been sidelined for six games due to a calf issue, while French defender Yoro missed the recent 1-0 defeat at Chelsea because of a foot injury. All three players trained with their teammates at Carrington, offering a positive sign ahead of the final.

However, Dutch centre-back Matthijs de Ligt remains absent, continuing to recover from an undisclosed problem that has kept him out of the last three games.

United, currently 16th in the Premier League—just one point above Tottenham—are aiming to end their disappointing domestic campaign by claiming silverware and securing a valuable spot in next season’s Champions League through victory in the final.
