Children’s Day: Uzodimma Reaffirms Commitment to Brighter Future for Imo Children

Date:

OWERRI – Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has reiterated his administration’s dedication to securing a brighter future for the state’s children, stating that the groundwork for their prosperity has already been laid.

In a personally signed message to mark the 2025 Children’s Day celebration on Monday, Uzodimma assured young Nigerians that both President Bola Tinubu and state governors are focused on creating a progressive and opportunity-filled future for children across the country.

“The groundwork being laid for today’s children would ensure that one day Nigerian children would inherit a prosperous and peaceful nation,” the governor stated.

While acknowledging the current economic challenges in Nigeria and around the world, Uzodimma encouraged children not to lose hope. He emphasized that the ongoing economic reforms under the current administration are aimed at strengthening national development, particularly through investments in infrastructure such as roads, schools, and hospitals.

In Imo State, he noted, efforts are underway to revitalize the health and education sectors—two key pillars essential to child development and success.

Governor Uzodimma also urged children to stay in school, focus on acquiring practical skills, and build their future through hard work and discipline. He warned them to steer clear of negative influences such as cultism, theft, and other harmful behaviors that could derail their potential.

He further encouraged children to show appreciation to their parents by treating them with love, respect, and obedience, in recognition of the sacrifices made for their well-being.

The governor concluded his message with a renewed pledge to continue prioritizing the welfare and development of children in Imo State.
