Popular Nigerian TikTok influencer, Peller, has threatened legal action against Pastor Kesiena Esiri of the Remnant Christian Network over allegations that he and his girlfriend, Jarvis, are promoting immorality among teenagers.
The controversy erupted after a viral video surfaced in which Pastor Esiri blamed Peller for distracting youths with “negative content” online. The cleric also linked the couple’s influence to the high rate of failure in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
“It’s what we are pioneering in public now like a normal lifestyle. Did you know the person mentoring the young people now? It’s one guy that calls himself Peller,” Esiri said in the sermon. “He is going about with a girl that he’s not married to, engaging in all kinds of nonsense things. And to society teens, it’s normal behavior. Can they pass JAMB? They can’t pass JAMB.”
Responding during a TikTok live session, the 20-year-old content creator dismissed the claims and stated that no one is forced to watch his content. He accused the pastor of using his name and that of Jarvis to stir emotions and increase church donations.
“One pastor go to church and be preaching about Peller and Jarvis in church. He said it’s Peller and Jarvis that make his children fail JAMB,” Peller said. “You see that pastor, we will sue you. Mr. Prophet, we will sue you for using our names to collect offerings in your church.”
He further alleged that the pastor’s public attack was an attempt to gain popularity and financial support from younger church members.
The exchange has sparked mixed reactions online, with debates around content responsibility, freedom of expression, and the role of religious leaders in addressing youth culture.
