American rapper Curtis Jackson, popularly known as 50 Cent, has responded with sarcasm after being named during the ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The trial, currently in its third week in New York, has featured explosive testimonies, including one from Diddy’s former assistant, Capricorn Clark. On Tuesday, May 27, Clark told the court that she once overheard Diddy discussing firearms while mentioning 50 Cent, his longtime rival. According to her, Diddy said, “I don’t like the back and forth, I don’t like that. I like guns,” during a conversation with an executive.
This revelation has sparked fresh tension around the case, which has already seen disturbing claims from singer Cassie Ventura. The artist and former partner of Diddy testified that he physically and psychologically abused her during their 11-year relationship between 2007 and 2018.
Reacting to the mention of his name and the apparent threat, 50 Cent took to Instagram with his trademark humour. In a post, he wrote:
“Oh my goodness, itty bitty Diddy wants me dead. I have to lay low. I think I’m gonna hide out at the playoff game tonight. LOL.”
The post, which has since gone viral, appears to mock the seriousness of the threat while also throwing shade at his embattled rival.
Despite frequently denying any serious feud with 50 Cent in the past, Diddy’s name has continued to be associated with dark revelations as the trial unfolds. A number of A-list celebrities have already been mentioned in court, adding to the public intrigue surrounding the high-profile case.
Diddy, 55, was arrested in 2024 and is facing multiple charges, including sex trafficking, under a growing federal investigation.
