Rudeboy Raises Alarm Over Youths’ Misuse of Social Media

Date:

Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has voiced strong concerns about the growing misuse of social media by young Nigerians.

The “Reason With Me” singer warned that many are using social platforms irresponsibly for clout, trends, and jokes, unaware of the long-term consequences.

“Social media is going to destroy a lot of people… You might think it’s just cruise, clout, or to trend… Your eye go clear,” he posted on his Instastory.

His remarks come amid increasing debates over the lack of social media regulation in Nigeria. Though a bill proposing tighter control was introduced in the National Assembly, it met with stiff opposition and has yet to pass into law. Issues like cyberbullying, fake news, hate speech, and defamation continue to spark calls for oversight.
