Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has departed the team’s camp in London and returned to Nigeria due to personal reasons.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Musa was absent from Thursday’s training session as the team prepared for the final of the 2025 Unity Cup, scheduled for Saturday.
A few other players, including Wilfred Ndidi, Cyril Dessers, and Semilore Ajayi, also missed the training. Meanwhile, players who featured prominently in Wednesday’s 2-1 victory over Ghana underwent light recovery drills.
One notable presence at the training ground was Benjamin Fredrick, a Nigeria U20 international and former ABS Ilorin FC defender, who was not initially called up. Now with English Premier League side Brentford, Fredrick took part in tactical drills led by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle.
The Super Eagles are set to face Jamaica in the tournament final. The Jamaicans secured their place after a hard-fought 3-2 win over Trinidad and Tobago.
