Popular Nigerian blogger Linda Ikeji has publicly chosen Davido as her favourite between two of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, Wizkid and Davido. In a recent interview with Pulse, when asked to pick between the two, Ikeji hesitantly declared Davido “by far” the better musician.
The brief exchange saw the interviewer ask, “Wizkid or Davido?” to which Ikeji responded simply, “Davido by far.”
This choice, however, did not come as a surprise to many Nigerians, given Ikeji’s longstanding feud with Wizkid. The conflict reportedly began in 2016 when Ikeji published a story about Wizkid’s alleged eviction notice from his Lekki residence.
The feud escalated quickly after Wizkid took to social media to threaten Ikeji, even saying he would send his 16-year-old cousin to confront her physically. The tense back-and-forth continued online for months, eventually drawing the attention of law enforcement, who had to intervene.
Though attempts have been made over the years to reconcile the blogger and the singer, the two remain publicly estranged. Linda Ikeji’s recent preference for Davido adds another layer to the ongoing rivalry narrative between the two entertainment personalities.
