Following Paris Saint-Germain’s commanding 5-0 win over Inter Milan to secure their first-ever Champions League title, PSG manager Luis Enrique has strongly advocated for Ousmane Dembele to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.
Dembele delivered a sensational season, netting 33 goals and providing 15 assists in 49 appearances. His consistently high-level performances reached their peak in the Champions League final, where his relentless pressing and defensive contributions stood out.
Luis Enrique praised Dembele’s leadership and defensive effort, stating, “I would give the Ballon d’Or to Ousmane Dembele for the way he defended in this final. That’s what you call leading a team. I sincerely believe he deserves the Ballon d’Or, without a doubt, not just for the titles he won or the goals he scored, but for his pressing. He’s done it all season, but exceptionally in this final.”
In addition to his Champions League heroics, Dembele was named Ligue 1 Player of the Season and shared the Golden Boot award with Marseille’s Mason Greenwood. His crucial goals against top teams like Liverpool and Arsenal, coupled with key assists in knockout matches, have reshaped perceptions about his fitness and consistency.
