K1 De Ultimate Reveals Late Mother Was His Composer, Dedicate Song to Her

Date:

Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has revealed that his late mother, Princess Halima Anifowoshe, played a pivotal role in shaping his musical journey.

The 68-year-old icon shared the heartfelt tribute during a podcast for his latest release, Ganusi The Album Fuji Classical, where he explained that the song “Mama” was specially dedicated to his mother in honour of her deep influence on his career.

According to K1, his mother, who passed away in January 2025, had dreams of becoming a musician herself but was held back due to her royal status and societal expectations for women at the time.

“She was a singer and a princess who couldn’t pursue her passion because she was expected to marry and conform to tradition,” he said. “But everything was transported on me by God. She often served as my composer and taught me the rudiments of music and singing.”

The Fuji star described her support and guidance as instrumental to his musical development, adding that remembering her through song is his way of honouring her legacy.
