NAF Airstrikes Destroy Terrorist Camp in Borno, Foil Planned Attacks

Date:

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the destruction of a major terrorist enclave in Bukar Meram, located on the southern flank of the Lake Chad region in Borno State.

According to a statement released on Monday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the operation was executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai following credible intelligence that insurgents were planning coordinated attacks on Marte and Monguno communities.

The targeted airstrikes, carried out on Monday, resulted in the neutralisation of several terrorists and the destruction of critical logistics infrastructure, including supply trucks, weapon storage facilities, and makeshift shelters.

A battle damage assessment revealed that the strikes significantly disrupted the planned assault, reinforcing the NAF’s proactive efforts to protect civilian populations and secure vulnerable communities.

“The NAF remains resolute in its mandate to protect the sovereignty of the nation and ensure lasting peace and security across the Northeast and beyond,” the statement added.
