Biola Bayo Explains Why She Announced Her Marriage Crash on Husband’s Birthday

Date:

Famous Nollywood actress Biola Bayo has addressed the backlash that followed her decision to announce her separation from husband Oluseyi on his birthday.

The actress, who made the announcement a week ago while celebrating her estranged husband’s birthday on social media, drew criticism from some fans who accused her of using the moment to expose him to public ridicule.

Speaking during the recent presentation of a house to veteran actress Jumoke George, Biola explained that her intention was not malicious. She said the post was made with her husband’s full consent and was aimed at pre-empting rumors.

“Please, I’m a human too,” she said. “The other one I said about my marriage was because I don’t want people to say my story for me, that was why I came out to say it. And that’s my style. So that people would not be saying something different or saying things that would make me sad. But I didn’t know that you people would still use it against me.”

She added, “People have already been asking me why I was no longer posting my husband, and I knew different rumors would come out online that very day. That’s why I spoke about our separation, but yet it was used against me.

“I had already told my husband before I posted. So he was aware that I would post it so that other people won’t be the one to tell the story on social media. But I know that God will reward everybody accordingly.”

Biola Bayo, known for her openness, previously revealed in 2023 that her son was born through a surrogate mother.
