Isaac Fayose Slams Oyebanji’s Performance, Says Ekiti Lacks Dividends of Democracy

Date:

Social media critic and philanthropist, Isaac Fayose, has lambasted Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, over what he termed an “abysmal” performance since assuming office in 2022.

In a viral video released on Democracy Day, Fayose — the younger brother of former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose — expressed disappointment in Oyebanji’s leadership, accusing him of failing to deliver any significant projects despite receiving large federal allocations.

While Ayo Fayose is a known supporter of Oyebanji’s second-term ambition, Isaac took a different stance, saying the governor had “nothing to show” compared to his peers. He applauded Governor Alex Otti of Abia for commissioning 15 projects in a single day and praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and President Bola Tinubu for their infrastructure efforts nationwide.

Fayose went further to accuse Oyebanji of political intimidation, alleging that the governor deployed thugs across Ekiti to suppress Democracy Day protests. He also mocked the administration’s only visible gesture as offering “upkeeps to former governors as if they are his wives.”

He concluded by calling on the people of Ekiti to demand better governance and accountability.
