ZARIA — The Nigerian Army is set to deploy 6,195 newly trained regular combatants to boost its strength and operations across the country.
The recruits, part of the 88 Regular Recruit Intake (88RRI), began training at Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, on January 13 and have completed six months of intensive military preparation. Out of 6,450 candidates who began the programme, 255 did not complete it.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, is expected to review the passing-out parade. The fresh soldiers will be assigned to various operational theatres to tackle growing security challenges and will also undergo specialised training for their respective roles.
