Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, has voluntarily presented himself to the Lagos State Police Command following a viral video allegedly showing him holding a firearm during a roadside encounter with a content creator.
This development was confirmed via WhatsApp by the state police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin.
Last week, a video surfaced online showing the prominent cleric holding a metallic object while engaging with a passerby who was filming him. The clip sparked widespread speculation, with many social media users accusing Adefarasin of brandishing a gun.
However, the pastor, in a message shared across his social media platforms, denied the claims, describing the incident as a misunderstanding. He maintained that the object in question was not a firearm and that he did not threaten or point it at anyone.
Commenting on the situation, SP Hundeyin stated: “No one is above the law. Pastor Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives.”
Hundeyin added that a full investigation has been launched following the emergence of the footage, which also showed the pastor driving an unregistered vehicle.
“The outcome of the investigation will be made public,” the police spokesperson assured.
As of press time, the Lagos State Police Command has not released further details regarding the object or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
