Nollywood actress Esther Nwachukwu, popularly known as Esther Sky, has weighed in on the ongoing Edochie family crisis, urging May Edochie to drop her estranged husband Yul Edochie’s surname.
Her comments come after a heated clash involving Yul’s brother, Linc Edochie’s wife, Yinka, who allegedly leaked private phone numbers online, escalating tensions within the family.
In a viral Instagram video, Esther accused the Edochie family — including veteran actress Rita Edochie — of turning against May. She stated that May had carved out her own identity and no longer needed to associate with the Edochie name.
“With all due respect, drop Yul Edochie’s name so that there would be peace. Even if your documents are associated with May Yul Edochie, go to court. You are winning right now, there’s nothing special about the name. Post online, give us your new name,” she said.
Esther further alleged that the Edochie family had ganged up against May. “All Yul Edochie’s siblings and brothers have been bought. If they weren’t planning something behind closed doors, Yinka wouldn’t come online to drag Queen May for no reason.”
She also criticised veteran actor Pete Edochie for his silence throughout the drama. “I’m calling out Pete Edochie. Sir, with all due respect, put a stop to this madness going on in your family. You are the one to end it—enough is enough.”
Her remarks triggered a wave of online reactions.
