Legendary Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam 1, has debunked rumours of reconciling with his estranged wife, Fathia Titi Marshall, stating emphatically that she is gone from his life for good.
The 68-year-old music icon made the clarification in an exclusive interview with journalist Stella Dimoko-Korkus, amid viral reports suggesting a marital crisis between him and his current wife, Aderopo Emmanuella.
Speculation had surfaced after the recent Sallah celebration, alleging that Emmanuella moved out of the singer’s home following his supposed reunion with Titi Marshall and her children. However, Kwam 1 dismissed the claims as baseless.
“I’m not estranged with Emmanuella. We don’t have any problems,” he said. “It’s a natural thing to say a woman is jealous. The only problem in a relationship is what rules you are trying to put up.”
Addressing rumours of rekindling ties with his ex-wife, he said: “Titi Marshall is gone forever but I can’t shut my eyes out on the 3 children we shared together because she is gone.”
Kwam 1 went on to suggest that his wife’s discomfort may have stemmed from his advice regarding her social media presence.
“Emmanuella brought this upon herself because I have told her to leave social media and concentrate on her business. But I guess she didn’t like it that way,” he explained. “She’s not getting younger anymore, she already has 2 grownups at the university, and the third one is about to join them. So, these are issues we need to ponder over, not social media things.”
Reaffirming his marital stance, the Fuji maestro stated: “I don’t have any plans to take a new wife. Emmanuella is my only wife.”
Kwam 1 married Titi Marshall in 2018 before tying the knot with Emmanuella in 2021.
