Barau, Ganduje Arrive in Madina for Burial of Business Mogul Aminu Dantata

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, have arrived in Madina, Saudi Arabia, to attend the burial of elder statesman and prominent businessman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.

The Nigerian delegation touched down at Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madina at 5:15 a.m. local time, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by Barau’s media aide, Ismail Mudashir.

Dantata, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 94, will be buried later today in Madina in accordance with Islamic rites.

Other dignitaries in the delegation include Kano APC Chairman Prince Abdullahi Abbas; Senate Committee Chairman on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, Senator Muntari Dandutse; and Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ali Madaki.

Also present are Makoda/Dambatta Federal Constituency lawmaker Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, Hon. Sani Bala, Usman Kansila, and Ahmad Dantata, son of the late icon.

Dantata’s death was first announced by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Junaid, who wrote in a heartfelt Facebook post: “It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved father, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata…”

Widely respected for his business acumen and philanthropy, Dantata was one of Nigeria’s most influential businessmen and a patriarch of the famed Dantata family.
