LAGOS — Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan, now known as Madrina, has once again spoken out about her unresolved conflict with former record label boss Jude Okoye, accusing him of dishonesty and evasion.
In a post shared via her Instagram account, the dancehall artist alleged that Okoye has been avoiding direct contact with her for years while speaking negatively about her behind her back.
“All you have done since 2016 is talk behind my back. All efforts to see you in person have been to no avail,” Morgan wrote.
Expressing deep disappointment, Morgan claimed that Okoye has deliberately maintained what she called a “no face policy” to avoid accountability. She suggested the breakdown of their professional relationship has spiritual and moral consequences.
“It is news that I am disappointed in you and I know you are also disappointed in yourself, hence your no face policy,” she said. “But you see, I know I had to reap my own destruction for sowing in flesh and you too will reap yours for being an instrument and for holding back such earnings through dishonesty. As we all know God cannot be mocked.”
The rift between Morgan and Okoye dates back to her time with his label, Northside Music, under which she rose to fame before a highly publicized fallout that stalled her career.
Okoye, who has previously denied any wrongdoing, is yet to respond to Morgan’s latest claims.
The renewed accusations have reignited conversations about artist-label disputes in the Nigerian music industry, with fans calling for clarity and reconciliation.
