LAGOS — The Managing Director of EeZee Conceptz Limited, Nancy Nnadi, popularly known as Coach Nancy, has confirmed that efforts are underway to amicably resolve the royalty dispute involving gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and the record label.
This development comes months after Chinwo filed a lawsuit against the label’s founder, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as EeZee Tee, accusing him of diverting $345,000 in music royalties. The case, filed in January 2025, stemmed from lingering financial disagreements that led to Chinwo’s exit from the label two years earlier.
In the heat of the legal battle, Nancy Nnadi had accused the singer of financial misconduct. In response, Chinwo filed a defamation suit against Nnadi, demanding a public apology and the removal of defamatory posts from her social media pages.
However, in a recent Instagram post over the weekend, Nnadi publicly retracted her earlier statements against Chinwo. She expressed hope for a peaceful resolution, disclosing that talks are being mediated by respected religious leaders.
“On the advice of my lawyer, and for the sake of peace and love of God, I retract my earlier post about Minister Mercy Chinwo. As well pray that Almighty God perfects ongoing settlement process being facilitated by the Fathers of Faith between her and EeZee Conceptz,” the post read.
The move signals a possible end to the rift between one of Nigeria’s most prominent gospel artists and her former label, as both parties appear to lean toward reconciliation.
