NAPLES — Napoli have rejected an initial offer of €50 million plus €5 million in add-ons from Turkish champions Galatasaray for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, as the Serie A side holds out for a higher transfer fee.
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Monday that Osimhen is keen on a return to Galatasaray, where he spent a successful loan spell last season. However, the outcome remains dependent on the progress of negotiations between the two clubs.
“Al Hilal remains involved in the race for Osimhen with a plan to pay his €75m release clause at Napoli, but there is no agreement with the striker yet,” Romano added, pointing to growing competition for the Super Eagles forward.
Galatasaray are reportedly prepared to offer Osimhen a three-year contract lasting until the summer of 2028, with the option to extend for a fourth year. The 26-year-old enjoyed a remarkable 2024/25 season with the Turkish giants, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
His prolific form played a crucial role in Galatasaray’s domestic double, as they lifted both the Turkish Super Lig and Turkish Cup titles.
Despite the player’s desire to return to Istanbul, Napoli are standing firm on their valuation and are expected to demand a fee closer to Osimhen’s €75 million release clause. With Galatasaray and Saudi side Al Hilal both in the running, the transfer saga looks set to intensify in the coming days.
