Modern Marriages Are Failing Due to Social Media and Power Struggles – Blessing CEO

Date:

Controversial relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has shared her views on why many modern marriages are struggling, attributing the trend to excessive social media use and shifting gender dynamics.

Speaking in a recent interview with Instablog TV, Blessing CEO argued that the support systems that traditionally helped resolve marital issues are no longer effective, especially as couples increasingly take their problems to the internet.

“In our generation, because I am working and earning money, even if I am quarreling with my husband, what do I need to go to my husband for? Once a woman becomes independent, they begin to rub shoulders with men,” she said.

She noted that the growing independence and financial power of women, while positive, can sometimes disrupt marital harmony if not balanced with emotional intelligence and sensitivity to relationship dynamics.

“A lot of people say that whenever a woman becomes successful, the man becomes insecure. The truth is that no man is intimidated by your success. They are only afraid of the masculinity that comes with success,” she explained.

Blessing CEO stressed the importance of women remaining soft and emotionally supportive in their relationships, regardless of their success.

“So women should always remember to be soft, no matter how much you have, because once you start to drag shoulders with your husband, he begins to cheat and look for a woman that is softer or he leaves the marriage,” she added.

Her comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with her perspective on traditional roles, while others criticised her views as reinforcing gender stereotypes.
