The Air Component of Operation Fasan Yamma has recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism, eliminating at least 95 terrorists in targeted airstrikes around Ragada and Warari villages in Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State.
According to credible intelligence cited by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets intercepted the heavily armed terrorists on their way from Zamfara, around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, as they attempted to move through Kebbi State into Niger.
The source disclosed that the terrorists, riding on 108 motorcycles and carrying sophisticated weapons, were headed towards Warari and Rijau before they were intercepted.
“NAF fighter jets engaged them between Ragada and Warari villages at coordinates 10° 54′ 1.51” N | 5° 25′ 4.96” E in Rijau LGA,” the source revealed. “Out of the 108 terrorists, only 13 managed to escape, while the remaining were neutralised.”
Residents of Makuku, Warari, and Ragada expressed relief and appreciation for the military’s swift action and the federal government’s continued efforts to curb banditry and insecurity in the northwest region.
The airstrike was based on verified intelligence gathered from the area, reinforcing ongoing military operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks across northern Nigeria.
