Social media activist Vincent Otse Martins, popularly known as Verydarkman, has responded to a recent interview granted by Adura Aloba, brother of the late singer Mohbad.
In the interview, Adura described hearing screams from Mohbad’s room and later finding him lying on the floor. The account has since sparked fresh reactions, with Verydarkman raising several concerns about the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.
Reacting in a video, the activist questioned why Adura did not immediately seek medical assistance when Mohbad’s condition appeared critical. He criticised the decision to wait for a nurse from Cotonou, suggesting that emergency services would have been a more effective option.
Verydarkman also addressed claims by Mohbad’s father and aunt regarding the presence of excessive blood on the singer’s clothing and bedding, asking Adura to explain the situation more clearly.
He further revealed that he had reached out to the interviewer who spoke with Adura but was told the singer’s brother was not interested in meeting with him. In response, Verydarkman urged his followers to encourage Adura to reconsider, adding that he would sponsor his trip and accommodation or even travel to Lagos himself if needed.
He reiterated that he has never collected money in his quest for justice in the case and remains committed to uncovering the truth.
“I’m surprised that Mohbad’s brother granted an interview and I’m not the one who interviewed him. Yes, because I was the one who began the Justice for Mohbad — all of you forgot about him,” he said. “As Mohbad’s brother, what did you do when you realised that your brother, who is the breadwinner of your family, wanted to die and you both were in the same house together?”
The video has continued to generate mixed reactions online, as calls for a clearer understanding of the events leading to Mohbad’s death persist.
