ADO-EKITI — The lawmaker representing Moba/Ilejemeje/Ido Osi Federal Constituency of Ekiti State, Mr. Davidson Akinlayo, has hailed the 10th National Assembly as a “people-centered” legislature, emphasizing its focus on prioritising the interests of Nigerians.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Akinlayo said the House of Representatives has lived up to its reputation as the ‘People’s House’ by consistently placing citizens’ welfare at the heart of its legislative agenda.
“It’s been a good House, a house that is people-oriented,” he said. “Every activity is centered on the people, and we have made it a point to put their interests first.”
Akinlayo pointed to the completion of a long-abandoned inter-state road project as a key achievement during his time in office. The road, which connects Ekiti and Osun States through Otun and Ora towns, had been left unattended for 24 years.
“That road had been abandoned for 24 years. I promised during my campaign that I would ensure its completion. By the grace of God, and with the support of the Federal Ministry of Works, the road is now complete. I monitored the project from start to finish,” he said.
In addition to infrastructure, the lawmaker highlighted efforts to tackle unemployment in his constituency, revealing that he has helped secure placements for 25 graduates in various federal agencies.
“In the next two or three days, we expect more employment letters. For my people, employment is the key concern. Once they are gainfully employed, about 60 percent of their challenges are solved,” he noted.
Akinlayo reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy and ensuring that the voices of his constituents continue to be heard at the national level.
