The Team Asue Media Organization (TAMO) has debunked rumours that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the upcoming Edo State election, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, has left the party.
In a statement released on Monday and signed by TAMO spokesperson Erhabor Emokpae, the group described the viral video alleging Ighodalo’s defection as false and misleading. The organisation urged Nigerians to disregard the claim, which it said was aimed at confusing supporters ahead of the National Assembly by-elections scheduled for later this month.
“The attention of Team Asue Media Organization (TAMO) has been drawn to a video circulating online alleging that Dr. Asue Ighodalo has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This claim is false. Dr. Ighodalo remains a member of the PDP,” the statement read.
The group described the claim as a “baseless fabrication” and said those behind it were attempting to derail Ighodalo’s campaign and mislead the public.
TAMO reaffirmed Ighodalo’s commitment to his political aspirations under the PDP platform, noting that he remains focused on his vision for a “prosperous and safe Edo” while working to strengthen the party as a true defender of the people’s interests.
