ABUJA — Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has praised President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a remarkable transformation of Abuja’s infrastructure since May 29, 2023.
Speaking during an inspection tour of ongoing projects on Saturday, Wike said only the “visually impaired” could deny the president’s contributions to the capital’s development. “Mr President has given first-class infrastructure to Abuja. All of you can attest that Abuja has really changed,” he stated.
Wike announced that a two-week-long inauguration exercise would be held to mark President Tinubu’s second anniversary, featuring several completed projects across the city and satellite towns.
Among the key projects slated for commissioning are the Gishiri Interchange, the OSEX-Wassa Junction road, the renovated International Conference Centre, the N5 road, and the Abuja Greater Water project.
“These are just a few of many,” Wike said, noting that both city centres and satellite communities had benefited from the renewed development drive. “What makes us happy is when people are happy, because at the end of the day, we are working for the people.”
He attributed the progress to effective leadership, saying, “Leadership is a major issue. When you have the right leadership, people will benefit from it.”
The minister reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s commitment to delivering on its promises and ensuring lasting development for residents.
