Nigerian singer and rapper Lil Kesh has opened up about his views on marriage, revealing that he doesn’t believe in it, stating that it doesn’t work. The “Shoki” hitmaker, who has been single for an extended period, also shared that he has no intention of marrying anytime soon.
In a recent appearance on The Esther Show, Kesh explained, “I’m currently single. I have been single for a long time. I broke up with my last girlfriend because I figured out that I could do better on my own, as far as my career, everything that was a priority to me at the time was concerned.” He further elaborated on the challenges of balancing relationships with his career and stated, “Since then, I have not been able to find myself in a space where I could juggle both.”
The 31-year-old also mentioned that while he would like to find someone who could make him compromise, he is not actively seeking a partner. “I’m no longer a kid. Luckily, my parents are not pressuring me to get married. They have made peace with the fact that I am different.”
When it comes to marriage, Kesh expressed his skepticism, saying, “Marriage? Maybe later. But for now, I’m not of that mindset.” He added that he does not see himself intentionally becoming anyone’s “baby mama” or marrying anyone soon. “I just don’t believe in marriage. They don’t work. Have you seen the rate of divorces? I’ve seen a lot of unhappy marriages. That doesn’t mean there are not happy ones. But personally, I want a happy home, and I don’t feel like I can do that yet. And I’m not going to jeopardize anyone’s happiness just because I have to get married.”
Kesh’s candid thoughts on marriage have sparked conversations, with many relating to his desire for happiness and fulfillment before making life-altering commitments.
