Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has expressed his grief over the tragic deaths of two young cinematographers, Johnson and Gozman, who lost their lives in a car accident on Port Harcourt Road. The duo were reportedly returning from a colleague’s wedding when the fatal crash occurred.
Their untimely deaths add to the string of tragic incidents that have recently shaken Nigeria’s film industry. In his emotional tribute on Instagram, Yul Edochie shared a candlelight image and wrote, “Too many untimely deaths in Nollywood. Really sad. R.I.P. to our fallen brothers. May God grant your families the strength to bear this painful loss.”
The Nollywood community is still reeling from the loss of the cinematographers, with the deaths following the recent passing of actress Nkechi Nweje and respected actor and academic Columbus Irisoanga. Fellow actress Hilda Dokubo also mourned Irisoanga’s death, describing it as deeply painful.
As Nollywood mourns, the industry remains shaken by these successive losses, sending heartfelt condolences to the families and friends affected.
