Former Bayelsa East Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has predicted that Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, may one day become the Governor of Osun State. Speaking on his Common Sense series, Murray-Bruce praised Davido’s international success and highlighted the political legacy of the Adeleke family as a key factor in his potential political future.
Murray-Bruce pointed out that Davido is not just a global music icon but also has strong political views. He referenced the political success of Davido’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who is currently the Governor of Osun State, and his late uncle, Isiaka Adeleke, who also served as governor during Ibrahim Babangida’s military regime.
“Given the political pedigree of the Adeleke family, Davido could follow in their footsteps and run for governor,” Murray-Bruce said. He also noted that there is a growing sentiment in Nigeria that entertainers like Davido, who have a strong connection with the people, could bring fresh perspectives to politics.
Murray-Bruce concluded by expressing confidence that Davido could win if he pursued a political career, adding, “Davido, if you run, I predict you will win.”
