Halle Bailey Granted Restraining Order Against Ex-Boyfriend DDG Over Domestic Violence Allegations

Date:

American singer and actress Halle Bailey has been granted a domestic violence restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., known professionally as DDG.

A Los Angeles judge issued the order on Tuesday, May 13, restricting DDG from coming within 100 yards of Bailey and barring him from making public comments about her or their 18-month-old son, Halo. Additionally, the court granted Bailey permission to travel with their child to Italy for a two-month film shoot.

The court ruling comes amid disturbing allegations of abuse made by Bailey. In legal documents obtained by TMZ, the Little Mermaid star recounted a violent confrontation that allegedly occurred in January when DDG came to pick up their son. She claimed the altercation escalated when she attempted to discuss visitation arrangements.

According to her statement, DDG became aggressive as she buckled Halo into a car seat, shouting, “Get out of my car, BITCH,” which caused the child to cry. Bailey also submitted video evidence reportedly showing DDG smashing her ring camera and throwing her phone. Additional materials presented included photos of a bruised arm and a chipped tooth, which were turned over to authorities.

The former couple ended their relationship in October 2024. Neither DDG nor his representatives have issued a public response to the recent court developments.
