Popular American Musician Chris Brown Remanded for Assault by Manchester Magistrates’ Court

Date:

Manchester Magistrates’ Court has remanded internationally renowned American singer Chris Brown in custody following an assault charge. The decision came after Justice Joanne Hirst denied Brown bail during a hearing on Friday.

Justice Hirst noted that the case exceeded the jurisdiction of the Magistrates’ Court and subsequently transferred it to the Southwark Crown Court in London for further proceedings.

The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for June 13, 2025.

According to reports from DAILY NEWS ONLINE, Chris Brown was arrested on Thursday at The Lowry Hotel in Salford. The arrest relates to an alleged assault involving a bottle at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, which reportedly took place in 2023.

Brown faces a charge of grievous bodily harm following accusations that he attacked music executive Abe Diaw with a bottle. Diaw has filed a lawsuit seeking $16 million in damages, citing injuries sustained and financial losses resulting from the incident.

The legal process now moves to the Crown Court as the case unfolds.
