GUSAU – The Zamfara State Head of Service, Yakubu Sani Haidara (mni), has praised Governor Dauda Lawal for his unwavering commitment to public service and the welfare of the state’s workforce.
Speaking with journalists at his office in Gusau on Thursday, Haidara described Governor Lawal as a compassionate and dedicated leader whose administration has consistently prioritized the well-being of civil servants and citizens across the state.
He outlined key achievements of the governor’s two-year tenure, including the timely payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities, as well as the execution of critical infrastructure projects.
Haidara revealed that the administration has cleared pension and gratuity arrears amounting to N13 billion, benefitting numerous retired civil servants. He also highlighted the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage for all categories of workers, including local government employees—alongside additional incentives and allowances aimed at enhancing morale and productivity.
He further emphasized the introduction of various training and retraining programmes for workers across all levels to improve efficiency and align with modern administrative standards and civil service reforms.
On issues relating to staff verification and redeployment, Haidara assured that the state government is actively addressing outstanding concerns to ensure fairness and transparency.
He urged civil servants to remain patient, loyal, and committed, urging them to reciprocate the government’s efforts by contributing positively to Zamfara’s socio-economic development.
“Let us continue to support this administration as it works tirelessly to transform the state and uplift the civil service,” he added.
