ABUJA — The Northern Awareness Network (NAN) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Dr. Yazeed Shehu Danfulani as the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), describing the decision as a strategic step toward youth empowerment and agricultural sustainability.
In a statement released on Friday, NAN Chairman Salifu Suleiman said the appointment demonstrates President Tinubu’s commitment to placing young, capable Nigerians in key leadership positions.
“Dr. Danfulani embodies the innovation, resilience, and commitment necessary to revamp the country’s agricultural insurance landscape,” Suleiman stated.
He emphasized that Danfulani’s extensive knowledge of the agricultural sector comes at a time when Nigeria urgently needs to reinforce food security and safeguard farmers against climate-related risks.
NAN described Danfulani as a rising figure in Zamfara’s political landscape and expressed optimism that his leadership at NAIC would bring about expanded outreach, enhanced insurance offerings, and greater operational efficiency.
The group also called on other sectors to follow the Tinubu administration’s example by entrusting young professionals with key roles in national development.
“As we congratulate Dr. Danfulani, we urge him to bring the same passion and dedication that have defined his public service to his new role,” the statement added.
Dr. Danfulani’s appointment is seen as part of broader efforts by the Tinubu administration to inject fresh energy into public institutions and drive reforms critical to Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation.
