Popular Kannywood actress Mansura Isa has publicly confirmed the sudden and shocking end of her second marriage, revealing details in an emotional interview on BBC Hausa’s Mahangar Zamani.
Mansura said she entered the marriage believing it was founded on love but later discovered her husband had hidden motives. “I married for love. You know what they say, love is blind. But it turns out he had a different agenda, not real love,” she stated.
Her fellow veteran actress, Fati Mohammad, defended Kannywood actresses amid common accusations of marital instability. She pointed out that many women—not just celebrities—experience failed marriages, but it becomes public when stars are involved. Fati also highlighted how some men marry actresses for lust and abandon them once satisfied. “People assume women refuse to stay in marriage because they’re used to luxury, but it’s not that simple,” she said.
Mansura’s second marriage was highly publicized in June 2024, shortly after news broke of her remarriage following her split from first husband, actor Sani Danja. The couple, once seen as a model pairing, share four children: Iman, Khalifa, Sultan, and Sudais.
Videos of her second wedding went viral, notably featuring a bride price of one million naira. Mansura explained she met her second husband through an uncle when she secured a film contract in Lagos and needed someone to oversee the deal. However, she soon realized he sought to control the project and used romance as a guise.
“He suddenly proposed marriage, and I accepted, thinking he was genuine. He even said I could continue with my film career. We got married at night, and the next morning he left for Lagos,” Mansura recalled.
At the wedding, he presented a contract asking her to approve him managing a ₦4 billion contract on her behalf, citing their new marital status. Afterward, he began direct dealings with the project parties and cut Mansura out completely.
“I never saw him again after that. He stopped answering my calls, and eventually divorced me,” she revealed.
When confronted in Lagos, he reportedly claimed to have forgotten about the marriage and initially resisted granting a divorce, conceding only after pressure.
Despite the heartbreak, Mansura said she has accepted the outcome and is moving forward.
