Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has called on the people of the state to set aside political differences and join hands in rebuilding a more united and prosperous Rivers.
In a statement released Thursday to mark the second anniversary of his administration, Governor Fubara acknowledged the political turbulence experienced over the past two years but described the journey as progressive and impactful.
“Our political landscape has undergone significant changes. Despite the turbulence, I have remained steadfast and focused. I pledged to protect and promote our collective interests, and that commitment remains unshaken,” Fubara stated.
The governor highlighted key achievements in healthcare, education, infrastructure, youth empowerment, human capital development, and increased participation of women in governance. He attributed these strides to the unwavering support and resilience of the people.
While noting that political challenges had slowed development at times, Fubara reaffirmed his dedication to peace, security, and socio-economic growth. He emphasized the importance of reconciliation and forgiveness, saying these were vital to restoring normalcy and delivering lasting impact.
“We are at a crucial point in our journey, where difficult decisions must be made. Every decision will be guided by your best interests and the long-term good of Rivers State,” he assured.
In a strong appeal to all Rivers residents, Governor Fubara urged them to move beyond past political conflicts. “Let us turn the page, come together, and focus on our shared goal of progress and unity. The time to rebuild and rise is now.”
He concluded with a renewed pledge to work hand in hand with the people in building a state that serves as a model for the nation.
