AC Milan Part Ways with Coach Sergio Conceicao After Underwhelming Season

Date:

AC Milan have announced the departure of head coach Sergio Conceicao following a disappointing campaign that saw the club finish eighth in Serie A.

The Portuguese tactician, who joined the Rossoneri in December, lasted just a few months at the helm. The club confirmed the decision in a brief statement on Thursday.

“AC Milan and Sergio Conceicao will not continue their journey together next season,” the statement read. “The club would like to thank Sergio and his staff for their commitment, professionalism and dedication shown during their time leading the First Team over the past few months.”

Conceicao, formerly of FC Porto, struggled to revive Milan’s form after replacing Stefano Pioli midway through the season. Despite high hopes, his tenure yielded inconsistent results and failed to secure European qualification.

Milan are now expected to begin their search for a new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, as they aim to rebuild and return to the top tier of Italian and European football.
